Privacy & cookies

This policy explains what personal information The Bakers Arms collects when you visit our website, book a table or get in touch, and how we look after it. We are the data controller for this information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

What we collect and why

Table bookings. Bookings are made through ResDiary, our reservations provider. We receive your name, contact details, booking details and any notes you add (such as dietary requirements or an occasion), so we can manage your reservation and contact you about it. ResDiary processes this on our behalf; see the ResDiary privacy policy.

Emails and enquiries. If you email us, for example about private dining or an event, we use your details to reply and to arrange what you have asked for.

Allergies and dietary needs. If you tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement, we use it only to prepare your food safely and keep it only as long as needed for your visit.

We do not sell your information, and we only send marketing emails if you have asked us to.

Our legal basis

We handle booking and enquiry details because they are needed to provide what you have asked for (contract), and to run the restaurant properly (legitimate interests). Where we hold allergy information, we do so with your consent and to protect your health.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and enquiry records for up to two years after your last visit or contact, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or accounting reasons.

Cookies and third-party services

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Some features on our website are provided by other companies, which may set their own cookies or receive your IP address when they load:

Staff who log in to manage the website also receive the cookies WordPress needs to keep them signed in.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us at reservations@the-bakers-arms.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
